Since I was first in China in 2012, my life and China itself have developed and changed a
lot. I took a trip to China with a friend in 2012. We traveled from Beijing to Shanghai to Xi an
to Anhui and to Hong Kong, all in 5 weeks. We had a fantastic time meeting local people,
visiting beautiful places and eating delicious food. Then, with the taste of China in my mouth I
returned in 2013 for the year as a Chinese language exchange student in Beijing. This was
when I fell in love with Beijing.
On the plane, when I went to Beijing in the year of 2014. a Chinese lady said, “Do you
have WeChat ” “What s WeChat ”, I replied. The expression on her face said it all. . . When
I think back to it now, I also have the same expression as her. During that year I really noticed
how WeChat wallet took off and everyone could have a WeChat wallet.
As my Chinese improved during my studies, I became more independent. I found a new
thing—waimai. I could get the food I like by waimai on deep dark winter nights and rainy days

bikes appeared in Beijing. I could ride a shared bike to almost everywhere in Beijing. It s so
convenient that it s hard for me to live without my shared bike account (账户). Today s China
is still a country full of ancient knowledge and customs, yet one that is also full of new ideas
and innovations ( 创新). Although some things seem to stay the same, something else is
changing quickly. I m sure as I continue my life here in Beijing, I will be interested in
something new that China s rapid development is bringing out.

found that if kids imagine themselves as a powerful person-such as a superhero like Spider-
man, they won t feel so nervous and will be able to focus on their work. Imagination and
fantasy can play an important role in achieving the things we fear.
For example, if you feel nervous during an exam, try to imagine that you are Spider-man.
You may find that you can “remove” the stress from this situation and feel more confident. This
can help keep you fight off bad feelings and focus on your task, just like a superhero would. Of
course, it doesn t mean that you should dress like the Spider-man. Pretending to be powerful
makes us feel powerful and that will have an influence on how we act in real life.
But you don t have to believe in superheroes for this. Anyone you admire can encourage
you to get through hard times, or remind you of how you should act in certain situations. Movie
stars, famous painters, even our own parents—anyone can be our “ Spider-man ”. For
example, when it comes to how I communicate with others, I like to look toward my mom for
inspiration. She is a middle school teacher who is always kind, thoughtful and brave. I try to
act the same way like her.
Thanks for your listening. I hope you can find your own strength to overcome the
difficulties in your life.

Water is the source of life. Not only can't people live without water, but also plants and
other lives will die without water. However, there are still many people wasting water. For
example, they always keep the water running when doing some washing.
So we must take actions to stop people from doing that. Firstly, more public service
advertisements should be made to let people know the importance of water. Secondly, we
should try our best to recycle water if necessary in our daily life. Thirdly, the most helpful tip is
that we should call on the people around us to save water together. Finally,we can hold a class
meeting to discuss more about saving water.
All in all,it's time for us to save water, and everything starts from now on.
