The Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday. It's on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It's also known as the Duanwu Festival. During the festival this year, my family and I went on a wonderful trip. Let me show you some photos.
This is the first one. My family is making zongzi together with the local people.Zongzi is a traditional food for this festival. We usually make sweet zongzi in my hometown. This time, we tried making and eating zongzi with pork, and it was yummy!
I really love this photo! We are watching the dragon boat race. You can see long and colourful boats. They look like dragons. On each boat, players are working hard to the beat of the drum.On the river bank, people are cheering and waving flags. Everyone is excited!
Here is a photo of me in Zigui(秭归), the hometown of Qu Yuan. I admire QuYuan very much. He was a great poet and he deeply loved his people and his country. My grandma told me his story when I was young. I'm happy to visit his hometown and pay my respect to him. I am proud of our history and culture.
