The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional holiday in China. The festival now is on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional lunar calendar (阴历).
There are many activities (活动) on this day. Dragon boat racing is an important part of the festival, held all over the country. Dragon boats are very long. Usually, there are many people rowing (划船). Boatmen row the boat with the drumbeats (击鼓声), and a man in the front of the boat waves a small flag to help coordinate (使协调) the rowing. Dragon boat races are very exciting.
At the Dragon Boat Festival, people eat zongzi. In early times, it was only made of glutinous rice (糯米), but now there are different kinds of fillings (馅)—bean paste (豆沙), ham, egg yolk and other things. And people usually give zongzi to their friends as presents(礼物).
The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China. People all over the country like it very much.

There are many traditional holidays in China.
Spring Festival is the most important one in China. On the evening before Spring Festival, all the family members get together and have a big dinner. After dinner, they watch TV and play cards while waiting for the New Year to come.

Mooncakes are a kind of special food of the Mid-Autumn Festival. They are in the shape of a full moon because people hope all their family can get together all the time.
When I was a child, my family always got together in my grandparents’ home on the Mid-Autumn Festival. We sat around a big round table and made mooncakes by hand together. Everyone was tired but with a happy face.
As I was older, my family and I moved to different cities. We were busy working and learning, so we seldom sat together and talked with each other. There were different kinds of beautiful and delicious mooncakes in the shops. However, my grandma still asked us to go back to make mooncakes together. She told us she liked doing that because it could let us get together and let us not forget those old hard days.
